10 Bizarre Movie Moments You Just Accepted
2. Ethan Has A Light In His Helmet… For Reasons - Mission: Impossible - Fallout
One of the many sensational stunts Tom Cruise legitimately put himself through during the making of Mission: Impossible Fallout involved the Ethan Hunt actor jumping out of a plane and performing a HALO jump.
What you may not have realised when watching Cruise genuinely fall out of the sky, though, is that his character is actually wearing a helmet that contains a bizarre feature you wouldn't find in real-life.
In order to capture the fact this was very much Tom Cruise within the suit seen tumbling from such crazy heights, the team had to install some lights into the star's oxygen mask/helmet that wouldn't usually be there.
Trying to light an actor's face at nighttime as they're falling out of an aircraft would have been pretty tough, you see.
So, simply having Ethan's face be lit up by some internal lights, regardless of the fact they would've likely made it even harder to see for the character when executing such a difficult fall, was the preferred option for the team.
And had it not been for those not exactly helpful lights, audiences wouldn't have been able to spot that this was 100% Cruise. So, it's safe to say that no one really cared about this illogical addition in the end.
