10 Brilliantly Crazy Movie Fan Theories

1. Batman V Superman Conditioned Us To Accept President Trump

Executive produced by Steve Mnuchin – finance manager for the Trump campaign and later Secretary of the Treasury – Batman V Superman is a perfect example of “pre-emptive programming”, conditioning people to accept an event before it happens.

This is a movie about an unhinged billionaire who’s portrayed as a mean, humorless bully so out of touch with reality that he creates problems for himself, unaware that he’s being manipulated throughout by a third party. And we’re supposed to empathize with him because he’s the only titular character left standing as the credits roll.

Never mind that throughout the film Superman is shown saving kids from a house fire, astronauts from an exploding rocket or families in a flooded village, Batman doesn’t like him so he has to die. It’s okay for a rich guy to make life difficult for an immigrant is what this movie is saying.

While rescuing Lois in Africa, Superman gets involved in a firefight where according to one character he “acted like a rogue combatant” and “people died.” We didn’t get to watch this scene in the theatrical cut of the movie because the studio were saving it for the extended edition Blu-ray, so in the theatrical cut it looks like Superman is unsuccessfully defending himself against “fake news.”
