10 Cancelled Horror Movies That Would Have Been LEGENDARY

Although superhero horror films are nothing new, they often come across as action-oriented blockbusters with a handful of scary aspects tacked on. Even if the horror elements aren't compromised, it doesn't mean the movie in question will turn out well, as can be seen with Brightburn or Spawn.

But if any dark superhero project could've struck gold, it has to be Guillermo del Toro's Justice League Dark. Based on the DC comic book series, the story revolves around a supernatural team that specialises in paranormal threats. Although the comics are hugely popular, adapting JL Dark would only work if handled by the right person.

As can be observed with Blade II and Hellboy, del Toro has a natural talent for bringing gothic comics to the big screen.

In 2013, the Oscar-winning director announced he was working on a Justice League Dark feature, which involved John Constantine recruiting Swamp Thing, Deadman, and Etrigan to face a cosmic threat. Though del Toro hoped Dark could co-exist in the DC Extended Universe, he eventually left to pursue other interests. But since his script was finished, Warner Bros. still intended to push forward with the project.

Even though two animated features have since been released, plans for a live-action Justice League Dark have fallen apart.
