10 Characters Who Survived The Movie (Only To Suddenly Die In The Sequel)

Another pretty iconic final girl, Alice Hardy is the young protagonist of the original Friday the 13th, a camp counsellor who has to endure many of her friends being killed at the hands of Pamela Voorhees.

She goes through a lot in the final act, fighting back against Mrs. Voorhees and eventually chopping her head off with a machete. The exciting finale gives Alice a moment of victory after a protracted fight to the death, and though she has a vision of being dragged under the lake by Jason, she ends the film in the hospital alive and well. All of her efforts to survive paid off. 

But could the franchise leave her alone? Of course not. In the opening of Friday the 13th Part II, Alice is at home recovering from the events of the first movie when Jason suddenly kills her. At least with Laurie Strode, her death is something of a big moment in Halloween: Resurrection, but here the final girl of the first movie is killed off out of nowhere basically as an opening gag. What a terrible end to a great character.
