Besides having a taste for the theatrical, the one thing that Bond villains have in common is that they rarely make it out of their movies alive. Dr. No, Elliot Carver, Gustav Graves, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Karl Stromberg... the list goes on and on and on.

Even if you just look at the Daniel Craig movies, that statement holds true: in Casino Royale, Le Chiffre is shot in the head by Mr. White; in Quantum of Solace, Dominic Greene is left for dead in the desert; in Skyfall, Silva is stabbed by Bond; and in Spectre, sub-villain Mr. White commits suicide.

And so, with No Time To Die on the horizon, there aren't many reasons to assume that Rami Malek's Safin (or Rami Malek's Dr. No, if you buy into that theory) won't suffer a similar fate.

It's important to remember that No Time To Die will be Daniel Craig's last outing as Bond, something that makes it even more likely that Safin will be killed. Presumably, the next Bond film will be a reboot that resets the continuity of the series (like Casino Royale did), which means that there's no point in "saving" any characters or storylines from the Craig era for future use.

The movie will want to send Craig's 007 out with a bang, and that "bang" will likely be the sound of a bullet shooting into Safin's face.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
