10 Classic Films That Should Be Remade

Technically this entry is discussing the 1986 remake of the 1960 film of the same name. If it has already been remade once why not go for it again?

The 1986 adaptation isn't a simple remake as it transforms the horror-comedy film about a talking plant into a full-on musical, and whilst that sounds like a recipe for disaster, it actually exceeds the original massively. The songs are memorable, the characters are loveable, and the practical effects still look utterly mesmerising.

There has been discussion about a remake to this classic for years now, with a current rumoured development with Scarlett Johannsen and Taron Edgerton involved. The popularity of this musical is significant, and thus such a venture would likely prove to be very profitable.

The role of the modern-day movie musical is rare but often very well-received, with classics like La La Land and The Greatest Showman showing the place they can have in a contemporary landscape.

A remake could even include the original ending intended for the film which is far darker than what we got, and get audiences simultaneously tapping their feet and on the edge of their seat.
