10 Classic Movies We Need To See In IMAX

6. Fight Club (1999)

It might not be the most traditional choice given that it's not a massive blockbuster like the majority of the films on this list, but David Fincher's postmodern masterpiece is one of the most salient and relevant films of the last 20 years, such that an IMAX treatment would only accentuate its pervasive themes as well as its sublime visual impact. Fincher takes what could have been an immature film about men-children who simply don't want to buy into modern society, and transforms it into a dark, hilarious, emotionally resonant film about living in the modern world - and, indeed, living as a modern man - that ends up diving off into a shocking, hilarious and clever bent.

This film might not benefit from the IMAX treatment were it not for Fincher's immaculate direction, steeped in visual sumptuousness from its opening credits to its gorgeous, explosive final shot. Fincher's style is so accomplished - and indeed, ends up defining the film - that it makes the picture indisputably deserving of such a grand treatment.
