10 Comic Book Characters That Need The Brightburn Treatment
6. Catwoman
Catwoman hasn’t had a solo film, seeing as the Halle Berry movie was Catwoman in name only and focussed on an entirely new character, Patience Phillips.
The Selina Kyle version of the character though, as well as being popular in the comics for decades, has been adapted several times too. Almost universally, the adaptations of her have been praised, and as a complex femme fatale who’s more of an altruistic villain than she is an anti hero, she’s a compelling character.
Her shtick is quite simple in that she breaks into places and steals expensive things. It’s almost a Robin Hood situation, in that she largely takes from the rich, except the poor she gives it to is simply herself.
She also has an on again off again relationship with Batman, although their moral compasses rarely line up. So how would she get the Brightburn treatment? That’s easy - she kills people.
Through subtle, almost undetectable means, a Brightburnt Catwoman would go after those who deserve it. Catwoman meets Dexter meets Sherlock, for the unusual killings.
Not as horror filled as Brightburn, granted, but a dark and deeply intriguing concept nonetheless.
