10 Comic Book Movie Moments That Felt More Like Horror Movies

1. Batman Uses Scarecrow's Fear Gas Against Him (Batman Begins)

Batman Begins saw the introduction to the silver screen of Jonathan Crane - known in the comic books as Scarecrow - a psychologist who uses a variety of drugs, serums, hallucinogenics and psychological tactics to exploit the fears and phobias of his opponents, including Batman himself. When Crane himself uses these tactics in this movie, it is pretty terrifying - he puts a burlap sack over his head and the hallucinations caused by his toxins make his victims see him as a maggot-covered scarecrow-like figure - but, when Batman turns the tables on him, he appears to Crane as something far more sinister. Batman becomes an all-black monstrous version of himself, with thick dark liquid seeping from his mouth. It's a truly terrifying scene and a frightening hallucination. The caped crusader looks far more like a horror movie villain (he's quite "Creeper-esque") than a superhero. So there you have it - ten moments in comic book movies that felt more like horror movies.
