6. What Happened To The Silver Surfer? (Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer)

The Silver Surfer was one of the antagonists in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer - albeit reluctantly - thanks to the fact he served Galactus by scouting and preparing planets for him to devour in exchange for the safety of his own planet and people. However, having been convinced that what he was doing was wrong, he sacrificed himself to destroy his master before he could devour the Earth, but seemingly perished in the enormous blast he had to expel in order to do it. But, in the movie's after-credits scene, his eyes open while he was floating unconscious in space - and we'd very much like to have seen the hero he could have gone on to become. Sadly, the movie sucked and the franchise was scrapped, so we never will and that's a real shame. That said, the character may return - albeit in rebooted form - in the upcoming Fantastic Four movies.
