10 Comic Book Movies For People Who Don't Like Comic Book Movies
2. Logan
The journey that the X-Men films have taken in recent years has been a bit haphazard to say the least.
All the way down to Dark Phoenix, the amount of confusing twists and turns going into every single timeline has been enough to drive even the most die hard comic book fans to the point of madness. Logan, thankfully, does not fall victim to that pattern.
Done in the tradition of an old Western, this tale of the ageing Logan trying to make right by the people he loves is extremely hard to watch if you're at all familiar with the character. Not one to just put blind action on screen, James Mangold is much more concerned with getting into the mind of Wolverine, as we see him at his most vulnerable, doing everything he can to make sure he does the right thing.
For someone who has been playing the character for the better part of a decade as well, this is by far Hugh Jackman's greatest turn as the X-Man, perfectly balancing the berserk fight scenes with some of the most heart-wrenching moments in the entire comic book pantheon.
