10 Comic Book Movies That Changed Characters For The Better
6. Negasonic Teenage Warhead - Deadpool
With her monstrously magnetic personality, Deadpool's Negasonic Teenage Warhead was the perfect antithesis to the regenerating degenerate. Born with the power to generate explosive force, NTW was a moody teenage goth who had absolutely no time for Deadpool's shenanigans.
In a movie where Deadpool is front and centre at all times, it was refreshing to see someone not buy into his whole schtick and was unimpressed by his attitude, which gave a handy audience point of view if they were not entirely sold on the Merc with the Mouth's deal.
The character was then reintroduced in the sequel as a more confident member of the X-Men, as well as having a relationship with her team-mate Yukio, being one of the best handled LBGTQ+ relationships in comic book movie history so far.
Comic NTW had a very different backstory, being introduced as a one off student with telepathic abilities who died in the Genosha massacre, before being resurrected (and dying again) in X-Force. The only thing this character is memorable for is the badass name, so assigning it to a much more fleshed out and interesting character is a distinct improvement.
