9. Talent Friction And Set Destruction - The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen

While the cast and crew of Stephen Norrington€™s 2003 Alan More adaptation were filming in Prague widespread flooding in Europe, the worst the continent had seen in a century, destroyed parts of the film set causing around $7 million worth of damage and delaying filming, but a flood of biblical proportions wasn€™t the only thing that plagued the set. Relations between Norrington and star Sean Connery, who locked horns over various aspects of production, gradually turned sour culminating in an alleged incident in which the director invited the Scottish veteran actor to punch him in the face. The Results: While that€™s a scene worth entertaining just to imagine the look on Connery€™s face, it remains unsubstantiated although he was quoted saying, €˜There have been differences of opinion on almost everything. Professional differences, personal differences, you name it€™. Nevertheless, filming together clearly had an effect on both: Connery announced his retirement from acting a few years later and Norrington has yet to direct another film.
