10 Comic Stories You Should Read Before Phase 3 Of The Marvel Cinematic Universe

1. Inhuman Volume 1: Genesis

It€™s no secret that Marvel Studios is pissed about Fox owning the rights to the X-Men. Unlike Sony, who Marvel Studios has struck a deal with concerning the rights to Spider-Man, Fox does not want to play ball with Marvel Studios. Unable to use anything mutant related for their films, Marvel has decided to revamp a VERY similar franchise that most likely will replace the role Mutants would have played in the Marvel CU €“ thus the Inhumans are reborn. Similar to Mutants, Inhumans are a human splinter race with superpowers. However, unlike Mutants, Inhumans were a by-product of genetic manipulation. Back in the pre-historic age, the Kree Empire decided to do some genetic experiments with Homo Sapiens and, in the process, sewed the seeds for them. Inhumans are born with abnormalities written into their genetic code; however, they must be exposed to a chemical called Terrigen before their power surfaces. Recently, in the Jonathan Hickman Avengers event called Infinity, the Earth was exposed to a bomb that released a Terrigen mist across the planet. Written by Charles Soule with Joe Madureira on art, Inhuman Volume 1: Genesis introduces a whole new generation of Inhumans who will undoubtedly make their way into the Marvel CU. As a side note: Inhumans have also made their way onto the Marvel: Agents of SHIELD television show. Marvel Studios has not announced whether or not the film will stand alone or if viewers should invest in watching Agents of Shield in order to understand the upcoming Inhumans film.

Since childhood, Bryant has been an avid fan of superheroes, and he has been reading comic books since 2006. His full name is "George Bryant Lucas"; however, after enduring countless Darth Vader jokes, he has chosen to go by his middle name. Born and raised in the United States, Bryant is currently living with his lovely wife in the country side of Wiltshire County, UK. Bryant does suffer from a mild case of dyslexia; misspellings and homonyms are to be expected on occasion.
