10 Completely Original Movies To Look Out For In 2018

3. Early Man

A Quiet Place Emily Blunt
Aardman Animations

Release Date: January 26

You can always rely on Aardman to deliver a heart-warming, enjoyable stop-motion-animated romp (their filmography includes Chicken Run, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit and Flushed Away) and 2018's Early Man will hopefully be another hit to follow the studio's impressive line of work.

Early Man is set in the distant past when woolly mammoths roamed the planet, and will follow Dug - a bumbling caveman - as he attempts to save his home by uniting his tribe against Lord Nooth and his Bronze Age City.

The cast list reads like a who's-who of British talent, and will include the likes of Tom Hiddleston, Eddie Redmayne, Maisie Williams and Timothy Spall, and as usual, Aardman has handcrafted each frame with painstaking detail, their fluid stop-motion animation once again on display with an impressive array of character designs and settings.

Early Man promises a funny, easy-to-watch adventure the whole family can enjoy, and since it launches in January, it could be the perfect antidote to all those post-Christmas blues.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
