10 Cool-Sounding Upcoming Movies That We Really Don’t Need

9. Deadpool

Why It Sounds Cool: If you've even had a passing experience with of Deadpool (aside from the previous on-screen outing) then you'll understand why the prospect of a feature film starring the Merc with the Mouth is one of the most exciting upcoming superhero projects (and that's really saying something). Keen to put the mute Wade Wilson from X-Men Origins: Wolverine firmly in the past, the new film has been green-lit on the back of the incredible test footage leaked online this past summer. Two hours of that will be awesome. Why We Don't Really Need It: How did star Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller convince Fox to back a hero renowned for swearing and violence whose previous attempt was despised with audiences? With extreme compromise. Deadpool will, as you'd expect from a superhero franchise (he's in the X-Men universe), be PG-13. And that probably means that while this will be a more interesting anti-hero when compared to the hero-cum-villain of Wolverine, he'll still be pretty neutered. It's still Deadpool being properly adapted, but don't be surprised if come 2016 that this isn't the movie that everybody's currently expecting.
