10 Coolest Weapons In Sci-Fi Movies

Yeah this has been a gun-heavy list but can you really blame anyone - there’s a mountain pile of awesome firearms that have lit up sci-fi movies over the decades. Few, however, have had the kind of storyline significance as this one.

Now first off, the ARC Gun, the central weapon in 2009’s District 9, is an absolutely awesome weapon to look at. From its double barrel-like design to its eye-catching handle, to the ridiculous firepower it wields, this thing is a sci-fi writer’s dream creation.

But what really sets it apart from many others is the fact that it also forms a central part of the movie’s plot. Because initially this weapon can only be used by the aliens.

As the story progresses, our main hero Wikus van der Merwe starts turning into one of the aliens. While that leads to rejection from those around him, he does gain use of the destructive weapon, playing a crucial part in swinging the tide of the battle.
