The Marvel multiverse is full of iconic Spider-Man villains. Yet none are as iconic as Willem Dafoe's portrayal of Norman Osborn, aka The Green Goblin.

In his initial film debut, the Green Goblin was a terrifying monster of a man who killed anyone that opposed Norman. He disintegrated foes with his wide array of Goblin bombs and Glider missiles. All with an iconic cackle and seemingly no regard for the lives he ruined.

Even in hand-to-hand combat, the Goblin was a foe unlike any other, who could beat Spider-Man to a pulp with just his bare hands. Even in death, the ghost of the Goblin sought revenge against Spider-Man aka Peter Parker. This bloodlust would infect Norman's son, Harry, leading to Harry becoming the second Green Goblin and dying after seeking redemption for trying to murder his best friends.

When Norman arrived in the main MCU universe, he seemed to want to change and remove his Goblin side. But it turned out to be a ploy by the Goblin to catch Parker off balance.

Even after so many years, the Goblin was still in his prime and once again was able to overwhelm Pater with his sheer vicious physical strength, ultimately leading to the death of the MCU's Aunt May.

The Green Goblin is the most terrifying Spider-Man villain. Whether wearing his iconic green mask or simply through Willem Dafoe's outstanding acting, this is one creepy foe who never disappoints audiences.
