10 Cures For Your Guardians Of The Galaxy Withdrawals

8. Hitchhiker€™s Guide To The Galaxy

A few critics have been keen to note the similarities between Guardians of the Galaxy and another great work of sci-fi humour that sprang forth from these shores: Douglas Adams€™s Hitchhiker€™s Guide To The Galaxy. It is a fair comparison, although Guardians is an entirely American creation you can definitely see the comedic DNA of Adams' universe embedded into the strands of the universe the Guardians inhabit. For the purposes of this article it is recommended that you seek out either the original radio serial, the BBC TV series or the books themselves for your Guardians replacement therapy rather than the 2005 cinematic version. Whilst Gareth Evans€™ film is not without its moments it is also a somewhat sanitised and overly polished version of Adams€™s work which doesn€™t come nearly as close to capturing the spirit of the work as the previously mentioned adaptations.
