10 DC Characters Who NEED Their Own Movie

2. Martian Manhunter

It’s a little strange that Martian Manhunter hasn’t had a major movie yet, given how much he’s featured in several other pieces of DC media. He’s heavily involved in various Justice League shows, the Injustice fighting games and DC Lego games, as well as the TV Arrowverse and Smallville.

More than most here, Martian Manhunter gets around. He was due for a big role in 2008’s Justice League: Mortal, but the project was cancelled during the height of the Writer’s Guild of America strike.

Around the same time, Joss Whedon’s Wonder Woman movie was canned, along with David S. Goyer’s The Flash movie. What a timeline that could’ve been, right?

As one of DC’s most powerful beings, Manhunter definitely brings something special to DCEU, and there is an easy route for the alien superhero to be introduced.

There is a fan theory floating around that General Swanwick, played by Harry Lennix, is actually Manhunter in disguise. After being inundated with tweets about this theory, Zack Snyder talked up the possibility of making this theory canon.

Whether this materialises or not remains to be seen, but either way Martian Manhunter surely needs to be in the DCEU if it’s to survive long-term.
