10 DC Comics Characters Dwayne Johnson Could Be Playing

2. Swamp Thing

Swamp Thing has graced the silver screen before, having appeared in two '80s films, as well as the small screen in a live-action series. As one of the most unique characters ever to appear in the pages of DC comics, his return to the screen would be a welcome change to what otherwise threatens to become a monotonous procession of Batman, Superman, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman€ Obviously, the live-action incarnations of Swamp Thing existed long before the popular notion of a shared, multi-film superhero universe began to form. So on one hand, yes, Swamp Thing would be a welcome character alongside the more well-known heroes. On the other, making the character fit into the grand scheme of things may prove difficult in these early stages. Again, one can really only judge the DC Universe based on Man of Steel and basic casting for Batman vs. Superman - and that's really not much to go on. But speaking of rumors, Guillermo del Toro keeps insisting that his Justice League Dark script is still rolling along. JLD is a team comprised of lesser-known heroes, many of whom have dark or mystical elements to their powers - among them are Deadman, John Constantine, Zatanna, Madame Xanadu and, you guessed it, Swamp Thing. This may be going out on a limb, but del Toro's vision may be even closer than it seems, and if it is then there's a chance that Dwayne Johnson is involved. Chances Dwayne Johnson will play Swamp Thing: Probably slim, but you're kidding yourself if you think it wouldn't be awesome.
