10 DCEU Characters That Are Nothing Like The Comics
3. Enchantress
Enchantress aka June Moone (Cara Delevingne) serves as the primary antagonist of Suicide Squad, and no matter what you make of Delevingne's divisive performance in the role, she's quite the far cry from her comic book counterpart.
For starters, they look extremely different - DCEU's Enchantress is messy, dirty, and wears darker shades of clothing, while the comic book version famously wears green everything.
Both versions show off a fair amount of flesh, though with the heaving bustiers from the comics nowhere to be found, the DCEU iteration is thankfully a tad more modest.
Character-wise they're both unfortunate humans who stumble into powers - in a cave and at a party respectively - yet while the comics have often depicted Enchantress as an anti-hero, she quickly becomes an unrepentant villain in Suicide Squad.
The film's focus on a romance between June and Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) also might seem extensive enough as to be inspired by comic lore, but this is another divergence from the source material, and in recent comics Enchantress has actually been getting cosy with Killer Croc of all people.
Aesthetically and in terms of their character arcs, these two versions of Enchantress are quite diverse, and let's be honest - in the comics she's never tried to summon an apocalypse with a weird hula dance.
