10 DCEU Theories Better Than What's In The Movies
5. Arthur Fleck Was The Inspiration For The Real Joker
Joker is a movie with a lot of ambiguity, and while some of our biggest questions have since been answered, we still don't know how this version of the iconic comic book villain factors into Bruce Wayne's transformation into Batman.
The reveal that the man who murdered Thomas and Martha Wayne was inspired by Joker is a clever one, but are we really meant to believe that this world's Caped Crusader eventually squares off with a Clown Prince of Crime decades older than he is? That wouldn't be a very fair fight, but this theory puts a slightly different spin on things.
Just like Arthur inspired Gotham City's working class to rise up and fight against the establishment, many fans are convinced that his actions lead to the eventual rise of the real Joker. That would hit the new Batman hard, especially as it means his greatest foe had modelled himself after the man indirectly responsible for the murder of Bruce's parents.
It's a fun theory, and one which could actually come to pass depending on whether Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix ever reunite to make a Joker sequel happen.
