10 DCEU Theories Better Than What's In The Movies

6. Black Manta Was Going Join The Injustice League...Or Task Force X

Aquaman exceeded expectations both critically and commercially, and while Black Manta's role was limited, some fans were convinced that he would return before the inevitable sequel. At the end of Justice League, Lex Luthor recruits Deathstroke to his Injustice League, and this theory claimed that Black Manta would end up joining their ranks.

That was supposed to lead to a Justice League vs. Injustice League movie which would have been undeniably fun to see, but given how poorly the original Justice League was received, it quickly became clear that the post-credits scene was never being followed up on.

As a result, this theory changed a little with the suggestion that the next time we meet Black Manta would be after Amanda Waller had forced him to join Task Force X in The Suicide Squad for an eventual Justice League vs. Suicide Squad movie. It was another very convincing and compelling idea, but one we now know isn't happening.

Had Justice League grossed $1 billion, there's a chance all these worlds would have collided, but as things stand, the League's franchise is going to remain on the shelf for a while.
