10 DCEU Theories Better Than What's In The Movies
4. Flashpoint Would Introduce A Brand New Batman
The Flash movie has been through a long list of writers and directors at this point, and there have been multiple versions of the Scarlet Speedster's first big screen solo adventure as a result. However, one recurring theme has been it being an adaptation of Flashpoint.
In that story, Barry Allen's time-travelling results in the creation of a brand new world where Aquaman and Wonder Woman have torn the world apart in a war between Atlantis and Themyscira, and Thomas Wayne became Batman after his son Bruce was murdered.
Well, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan dropping hints that he was going to suit up as the Caped Crusader, it's no wonder that one very popular fan theory pointed to the Flashpoint movie creating a new DC Universe which would have written Ben Affleck's version of Batman out of existence and replaced him permanently with the Flashpoint Dark Knight.
It was a cool idea for how Affleck could walk away from the role in a way that makes sense, but not one that's come to pass. While Flashpoint is the title of the Flash's first movie, Warner Bros. is just rebooting the Batman franchise with Robert Pattinson.
