10 Deleted Scenes That Would Have Ruined Their Movies

9. Magneto In Drag - X-Men: First Class

After a promising start to the life of the X-Men on the big screen with Brian Singer's first two movies, things went considerably downhill once Brett Ratner got behind the camera for The Last Stand. Fortunately, with Matthew Vaughn helming X-Men: First Class, matters ultimately improved for the mutant superheroes. With its strong script and great performances, X-Men: First Class is certainly a memorable addition to the franchise. Although had a certain moment not been removed from the final cut, it could have been memorable for all the wrong reasons. A scene exists where Charles Xavier and Eric Lehnsherr are on a recruiting mission in a gentlemen's club where they encounter Angel (Zoe Kravitz) working as a stripper - to convince her of their mutant powers Xavier transforms Eric's appearance to make him appear to be in drag. Maybe Michael Fassbinder, who plays Eric/Magneto, wasn't too happy about appearing in a dress - or perhaps more likely they took one look at the footage and realised how completely out of place it would be in the movie, lowering the tone just a little bit too far. Either way, it's a good job it remained on the cutting room floor.
