10 Devastatingly Dark MCU Theories
4. Thanos Created Galactus
When Thanos fought the Avengers in Infinity War, he did something few comic book movie villains have ever been able to do. He won. He snapped his fingers, culled half of all life in the universe, and in his own eyes corrected it.
This was his only goal to the extent that, to avoid further temptation he destroyed the stones, and had no problem being killed or seeing his future self being killed. That was destiny, but as long as the work was done by then, he didn’t care. Maybe the real reason he didn’t care was because he put in place a contingency plan that would ensure that his work would remain done no matter what.
The problem with Thanos’ plan was that eventually, the population of the universe would once again rise to unmanageable levels. Keeping it to a reasonable and safe level would require constant attention, potentially in the form of a being that could devour entire planets and civilisations in one go.
When Thanos snapped his fingers, could he have created Galactus as a means to keep the universe’s population from ever reaching such dangerous levels ever again? It ultimately wouldn't matter that the Avengers defeated him, as throughout all of space, the Eater of Worlds would be doing exactly that, forever continuing Thanos’ work even after the Mad Titan’s death.
