10 Directors Who Just Made Their Worst Movie
8. Jake Kasdan - Red One
Jake Kasdan is probably the least-recognisable name on this list - despite being the son of Star Wars screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan - but he has nevertheless made a mark in recent years as the director of the new Jumanji movies, seemingly cementing him as a rock-solid blockbuster filmmaker.
Kasdan also received acclaim for Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, while his more divisive projects include Orange County and Bad Teacher. Though Kasdan's previous comedy vehicle Sex Tape is technically his worst-reviewed film to date, it at least feels a smidge more soulful than his recent holiday-themed tentpole Red One.
Despite starring Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans, this CGI-slathered slice of seasonal slop is bizarrely forgettable, with almost every aspect of its production, from the generic script to lackluster VFX, feeling like they were conceived and executed by an AI.
Granted, the film's record-breaking viewing figures on Amazon Prime will ensure it doesn't do damage to the careers of anyone involved, least of all Kasdan, who is already hard at work prepping his third and final Jumanji movie.
