10 Disappointing Movies That Killed Our Nostalgia

7. Scooby-Doo

Scooby Doo 2002
Warner Bros.

Ever since the first episode was broadcast way back in 1969, Scooby-Doo has been a staple of childhoods across the world. The light-hearted comedy and exciting thrills have proven to be a hit for over four decades, making it the perfect candidate for a big budget movie adaptation.

In 2002, Scooby-Doo got exactly that. With an all-star cast featuring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rowan Atkinson, and Freddie Prinze Jr., it was looking like everyone's favourite Great Dane was getting the big-screen treatment he deserved. Ultimately, despite a decent performance as Shaggy by Matthew Lillard, Scooby-Doo was a total failure, with none of the lovable wit or charm of the original animated series.
