10 Disney Supporting Stars That Need Their Own Movie

3. Baymax

The Genie Aladdin
Disney

The image alone should be enough to guarantee a spin off, a TV series, potentially even a gritty reboot.

Baymax follows in the mould of many of the beautiful characters that Disney has brought to the screen, one who is both simple and complex. Baymax, in being something of a nurse, friend and highly-intelligent war machine, has something for everyone!

There has been a continuing television series and the time is more than right for another film to feature this inflatable, caring character. He is a symbol of both love and friendship, one who not only cares for Hiro but also guides him. He is hilarious in his simplicity (the fist bump!) and, like many stories with a Pinocchio-esque feel, he is more human than the humans around him.

He is the breakout star of this film certainly and that final sequence is utterly heartbreaking. The character had been brought in from Marvel comics and Disney did what it does so well - it made us care deeply about this simple character. His rescue of Hiro feels earned. What also feels earned is a continued exploration into what he can do and be.

Baymax is a pure, brilliant creation who gives joy to so many people. Giving him his own film is both timely and would be a boon for many who need a nice film in these times.
