10 Disturbing Life Lessons Disney Movies Teaches You

1. Setting Us Up For Failure With Happily Ever After

Snow White And Her Prince The Kiss Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs 8463421 900 672 The thing that sticks with us most about Disney films is that in the end they always live happily ever after. That three-word mantra has shown up throughout Disney history, seemingly becoming one of their mottos. Happily Ever After, the idea of which gets drilled into our skulls from the time we are young. The young couple's love conquered all and they lived happily ever after. It becomes the ending we expect to get out of life. The only problem is that there is no happily ever after for us. Life is pain and as long as you live it there are going to be painful obstacles we must all endure. Essentially what Disney has done has lied by giving us false expectations of what we are going to get out of life. In this way they set us up for failure by making us believe that at some point whatever makes us special is going to shine through, put life's challenges in their place, and everything is going to be great. Except that moment never comes and at the end of the day we all feel gypped. Thanks for everything, Walt.
