Defining Dumb Moment: Burying not one, not two but three members of his family at a cursed Indian burial ground.

After his family cat gets run over, Dr Louis Creed takes some rather bad pet care advice from his neighbour Jud Crandall (who is also a bit of an idiot) and buries the kitty’s corpse at an ancient Indian burial ground with the power to resurrect the dead.

What Louis is left with, however, is an undead feline that’s a ferocious sand foul-smelling shell of its former fluffy self. But does this put Louis off doing the exactly the same thing when his toddler son also tragically gets run over? Hell no.

Off Louis trots to the tainted ground and soon enough his formerly angelic child is resurrected as an evil, undead terror tot who ends up committing matricide with a scalpel. Now left with a dead wife on his hands too, Louis – the king of bad decisions – decides to bury her at the ancient Indian burial ground too.

Unsurprisingly to anyone but Louis, she too comes back evil but at least has the common sense to kill him before he can bury any other dead people in that cursed ground.

If the definition of an idiot is someone who makes the same mistakes but expects different results, then dead Dr Louis Creed is exactly that kind of idiot.
