Amy Fisher's fame was ill-gotten from the start. Called the "Long Island Lolita", she was catapulted into the tabloids after attempting to fatally shoot the wife of her lover Joey Buttafuoco. After her arrest, Hard Copy released a tape in which she can be seen saying to gym owner Paul Makely that she intends to marry him upon release.

"That will keep my name in the press," she said. "I want my name in the press. Why? Because I can make a lot of money. I figure if I'm going through all this pain and suffering, I'm getting a Ferrari."

So desperation was always a part of Fisher's act. Two TV movies documented her affair with Buttafuoco, one with Drew Barrymore and one with Alyssa Milano. She could see the appeal of being the subject of stardom - she just didn't know how to do it.

The answer? Porn. Fisher released several videos through Red Light District video and, as late as 2009, announced her intention to become a stripper. Fans, if she actually had any, politely asked her to put her clothes back on.

She and Buttafuoco re-united for dinner in 2007 with the intention of creating a reality show, but in the end nobody cared.
