8. Alien: Resurrection - Mother/Daughter Moment
What happens? Sigourney Weaver's Ripley discovers that the Alien Queen that was created using trace elements of her own DNA has produced an alien/human hybrid. This new creature recognizes Ripley as its mother and they share an intimate moment before Ripley has it sucked out of the ship through a hole in the wall.
Why is it hilarious? I'm not entirely sure what they were going for here, it seemed to be the huge emotional pay-off to the Alien franchise, instead it was awkward to watch and in retrospect, pretty funny. The way Ripley serenades over the hybrid before killing it pretty graphically is like watching some kind of martian fetish video, rife with poor acting and really weird vibes. When you line this up against the first two films it's funny that they managed to go this wrong.
