10 Even More Movie Scenes Shot For Real
1. Tony Jaa's Legs Were Actually Set On Fire - Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior
The sensational Tony Jaa has helped unleash some of the most remarkable and gorgeously creative action ever to land on the big screen.
From skipping over incoming adversaries like a stone over a lake, to throwing out kicks that look like moving pieces of majestic art, Jaa is the highly physical and acrobatic gift that just keeps on giving.
But arguably the most impressive entirely real moment he's ever been a part of in a feature came whilst playing his first major role in Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior.
Whilst engaging in combat at a gas station during the film, Jaa's Muay Thai master Ting only ends up setting his legs on fire mid-fight. This wasn't achieved via any digital wizardry either, that was Jaa himself bursting from the flames with genuinely burning legs in front of the camera.
He didn't make it out of that ridiculously badass moment unharmed, though.
As he'd tell Firecracker magazine, the martial arts expert suffered a few burns during the shooting of that hot brawl.
The fire spread up his trousers so quickly as they worked through the scene, Jaa's eyebrows, eyelashes, and nose were all burned early on. But the actor still dusted himself off and put himself through another few takes to ensure the insane showdown looked as awesome as possible in the finished article.
Mission accomplished.
