10 EXACT Moments That Derailed Huge Movies

This one is another case where one ridiculous, easily avoidable mistake annihilated any semblance of credibility early on.

In this mostly terrible legacy sequel to a horror masterpiece, which ignores all of the previous sequels, the villainous Sawyer family is killed shortly after the events of the original film. One of them is a baby who's adopted by two unlikable locals. So, these events took place in 1974.

We jump ahead to 2012, which is when the bulk of the film is set, and the baby, Heather, is now grown-up and played by Alexandra Daddario, a thoroughly talented actress (just watch her in The White Lotus) who, sadly, keeps getting cast in terrible projects like this one. Heather is a young woman, no older than mid-20s at the most... she should be almost 40 years old!

This is one of those things that was such a blatantly obvious, stupid mistake that people will be left scratching their heads and wondering what on earth happened. If those involved were short-sighted enough to leave such a jarring plot hole in the final movie, that immediately indicated that they weren't putting an awful lot of care into the rest of it. Sure enough, the remainder of the film is just as bad and somehow gets even dumber as it goes along - "Do your thing, cuz!" If you know, you know.
