5. Adrian Says "Surprise" - The Invisible Man
Leigh Whannell's brilliant new take on The Invisible Man climaxes with the villainous Adrian Griffin (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) meeting up with his former partner Cecilia (Elisabeth Moss) in one final attempt to gaslight her back into his life.
Cecilia is meanwhile wearing a wire in an attempt to get a recorded confession from Adrian that he has been using the invisible bodysuit to torment her throughout the film.
Adrian doesn't play ball, though while attempting to manipulate Cecilia he utters the word "surprise," the very word which the Invisible Man has used to taunt Cecilia.
This causes Cecilia's demeanour to immediately change, seemingly confirming to her beyond all doubt that Adrian was indeed the one behind everything.
She then excuses herself to the bathroom for a moment, whereby she dons the invisible suit and kills Adrian, slashing his throat with a knife in a manner that looks like suicide, ensuring she can't be held liable for his death.
Fittingly, she even claps back with her own utterance of "surprise" as the life drains out of her murderous ex.
