10 Most Excrutiatingly Annoying Comic Book Movie Characters

7. Darcy Lewis (Thor)

I'm aware from previous articles that Thor's Darcy Lewis has a lot of fans, but she's just not for me. Yes, I won't argue with the fact that Kat Dennings is a very attractive woman, but that's largely cancelled out by just how unnervingly irritating her character is. With a shrill, high-pitched voice and the fact she's clearly just been thrown in there as a bit of nerd bait, Darcy doesn't serve much of a purpose beyond being bumbling comic relief, and adding a little more personality to the science team, which otherwise has to deal with the bland Jane Foster as its poster girl. Darcy is a great opportunity for a comic relief character, but very little is actually done with her beyond famously referring to Thor's hammer Mjolnir as "Myeuh-muh", occasionally commenting on the Asgardian's hotness, and making out with Ian in The Dark World after he saves her life. This one's particularly frustrating to me because there's a lot of potential here, and the Thor series needs all the girl power it can get, what with Jane being boring and Sif not getting enough screen time despite being the most likeable female in the series.
