If you're an actor of Denzel Washington's stature and talent, you can literally do whatever you please. Hell, the man could retire comfortably at this point, without a care in the world. But that would be a great loss for us viewers, so let's hope he sticks around for a while!

Last seen in The Equalizer 2 over the summer, Washington has always delivered a fine balance between explosive, mainstream fare (The Magnificent Seven, Unstoppable, The Equalizer) and more challenging dramatic roles (Fences, Flight, Roman J. Israel, Esq.), so predicting what he'll do next is tricky. One thing we do know about his next project, however, is that we won't see it in 2019.

Antoine Fuqua - director of both Equalizer films - has expressed interest in returning for a third, but nothing has been made official yet. Besides that, Washington hasn't made any major moves towards securing his next feature-length role. With him directing 2016's Fences to uproarious critical success, there is a chance he returns to the director's chair before he steps in front of the camera again - but that's anyone's guess.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
