“The infestation has begun,” claims a campaign video for Senator John McLaughlin (Robert De Niro). “Parasites have passed our borders and are sickening our country, leeching off our system and destroying us from the inside….”

A rifle-toting racist who runs death squads that patrol the Mexican border hunting and killing illegal immigrants, Senator McLaughlin has hit upon the perfect solution to America’s immigration problem: build an electrified border fence between Mexico and the US. “That’s his platform: ship ‘em back,” says one character. “But first he’d make you build a wall along the border for no pay. Not so much as a thank you then get the f**k out.”

In order to gain support for the idea, McLaughlin stages an elaborate scheme that will make it appear an undocumented Mexican (Danny Trejo) tried to assassinate him. He says, “Mexico makes a fortune because of us. A wall is a tiny little peanut compared to that.”

Actually, that’s not a quote from the movie at all. Trump really said it.
