10 Films President Trump Needs To Watch
6. Back To The Future II
Writer Bob Gale admitted in 2015 that Trump inspired BTTF II’s Biff (which confirmed a fan theory) but the resemblance was too uncanny to have been coincidental.
Viewers were struck by Trump/Biff’s masculine chin, beady eyes and unusual hairstyle, while the more academically inclined noted that both characters were married three times and had their name adorned across everything they owned. They were among America’s richest and most powerful men, and both owned casinos – the Trump Taj Mahal and Biff Tannen’s Pleasure Paradise respectively.
Biff spends his wealth almost exclusively upon himself, elevating his public profile until he becomes “America’s greatest living folk hero.” Though he claims to love Hill Valley, he allows it to turn into a crime-ridden slum where the school burned down and even Mr Strickland packs a shotgun. The only landmark is the 27-storey Pleasure Palace, whose opulence is a middle finger to the less fortunate on the streets outside.
Where does Biff Tannen stop and President Trump begin, you ask? That’s an excellent question.
