By the time Child's Play 3 rolled around, the franchise was already running out of ideas, nevermind the fact that they did away with Alex Vincent, the originator of the role Andy Barclay (the franchise's main protagonist) and kind of left the fate of the character of Kyle from the sequel up in the air. Mix that with placing the film in a military boarding school and it's no wonder why there felt as if there was this huge disconnect between the first two films and the third. However, one bad sequel was not successful in ending the franchise completely as Bride of Chucky came out in theaters a couple years later with a new premise, a new and interesting character, and a different look and attitude for everyone's favourite plastic killer. Brought back to life by his main squeeze Tiffany (played by the voluptuous Jennifer Tilly), Chucky embarks on the same mission he has in every film... to transfer his soul out of his plastic prison and into the body of a human male! To the surprise of many, Tiffany has other plans in store for Chucky... and those plans include marriage and starting a family. Chucky eventually delivers on both counts, but only in his colourful Chucky way... with a body count to match! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIjmxvHV2Mg Why You Rooted For Them: In Bride of Chucky, the Good Guy doll is amusingly self-aware and more willing to show his fun and humorous side (without losing his killer edge). Tiffany, for all intents and purposes, means well for the most part but is also rather vapid and has her priorities all kinds of mixed up (both in doll form and in human form). This makes them the perfect odd couple who tend to sync up easily when it's time to kill a thieving couple or take out John Ritter's vile Chief of Police. The banter - both playful and hateful - between the "newlyweds" endears them to fans and you find yourself cheering for them, not out of hatred for their human counterparts, but simply because they are entertaining to watch on-screen. While they aren't physically playing the characters, Brad Dourif (voice of Chucky) and Tilly still manage to have wonderful chemistry with one another. That brings us to the end of our countdown.
