Universal's panel was primarily focused on their upcoming Jurassic World sequel, but there was another sequel to a horror classic that stole its thunder.

Blumhouse premiered the first trailer for their upcoming Halloween reboot, and the audience absolutely ate it up. The trailer showed Jamie Lee Curtis in the role of Laurie Strode once more, this time a hardened woman ready to go to war with Michael Myers.

It also immediately highlighted that the only other film in the franchise this film would be acknowledging would be Carpenter's original, even including a line of dialogue to specifically make it clear that Michael would not be Laurie's brother in this version.

Prior to the footage, Jamie Lee took to the stage to warn the crowd;

"This movie is hella scary."

And by all accounts, it delivered. The reaction was incredibly positive from all corners of the internet, so much so that original Michael Myers actor Nick Castle recently revealed that general audiences may be getting the trailer a few months ahead of schedule because of how well it was received here.
