10 Foreign Language Horror Films Hollywood Doesn't Have The Balls To Remake
2. Entrails Of A Virgin (1986)
Language: Japanese
The title alone is enough to tell you that this unsavoury Japanese monster movie isn't in line for the Hollywood treatment any time soon. Anyone who has a friend of a friend that has accidentally stumbled across Japanese pornography while conducting some totally innocent research into anime will tell you that the naughty bits are fogged out (as per Japanese law) and that is indeed the case here, though director Kazuo Komizu finds ways to shock us that don't involve penises. Human ones, at least.
His nightmarish movie follows a group of models and photographers as their shoot in the rural Japanese mountains is interrupted by a dense fog, leaving them stranded overnight. Taking shelter in an unoccupied house, they decide to break out the alcohol and play drinking games which leads to frolics that borderline on softcore porn, though it all seems so tame when a nearby swamp creature appears and spoils the fun.
The monster proceeds to kill the men in the group, though the young women present are set for a much worse fate. With its oversized swamp penis standing to attention, the beast attacks and rapes the females in the group, putting them through an agonising ordeal before dispatching of them in the most brutal of ways - one has to watch as the creature pulls out her guts from the place it just violated.
By the time Hollywood finished editing out the parts unsuitable for American consumption they'd be left with an incredibly short film about bad weather spoiling a photoshoot.
