Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi star as brothers Jake and Elwood, two soul singers known simply as the 'Blues Brothers'. "On a mission from God" to save the orphanage in which they were bought up in, the brothers visit numerous musical friends and make many enemies along the way.

Supported by an all star cast featuring Carrie Fisher, John Candy, Twiggy and dozens of music legends including Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Cab Calloway, the film is one of the most ambitious and expensive comedies of all time, costing an estimated $30 million to produce.

Today, the film is recognised as one of the most quotable films of all time and despite their iconic appearances in other comedy cult classics, the image of the straight-faced suit wearing Aykroyd and Belushi has become synonymous with the legacy of both actors.

The musical comedy made an impressive $115 million at the box office and recently was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2020.
