3. Emma Watson And The Slurping Mugs
Towards the end of The Deathly Hallows Part 1, our three heroes visit Xenophilius Lovegood and talk to him about the Deathly Hallows and the Tale of the Three Brothers.
Just like his daughter, Xenophilius is an odd character with odd tastes, and rather than offering Harry, Ron, and Hermione something normal, he decides to give them a mug of freshwater plimpy soup. After taking a swig of this unusual substance, all three of them are clearly disgusted by the taste.
You wouldn’t think such a simple premise would lead to hilarity – but it did. For whatever reason, Emma Watson couldn’t stop laughing at her co-stars as they drank the soup from their mug – the slurping sound set her off immediately. In fact, Emma’s fits of laughter were so frequent that Rhys Ifans (who plays Xenophilius Lovegood) gave her a new nickname: Giggles.
Why Emma found the slurping mugs so hilarious will always remain a mystery, but her bizarre sense of humour is a neat little blooper that most Harry Potter fans don’t know about.
