10. American Pie
Woah, what's this ginormous franchise about, then? The
American Pie movies are about a group of teenagers who are obsessed with sex, and find themselves getting into "hilarious" scrapes and situations based on the idea that they don't know "how" to sex, and are super frustrated as a result. The first three movies featured the same cast of characters, and then there were a bunch of lame DVD sequels that partly featured one character's dad, because that's how desperate it got. The latest movie brought the original cast back together, though, who all looked exactly the same despite being over a decade older.
And it should quit? Why? The first two
American Pie movies were solid, near-iconic efforts - if you saw those as a teenager, you probably love them now. All the other movies that came after those, though, are deserving of the top spot in a bargain bucket, except for... well, the latest entry,
American Reunion, which - despite garnering mixed reviews - was actually pretty good for the nineteenth (or whatever it was) movie in a franchise.
Reunion successfully managed to wrap things up whilst feeling almost like it should actually exist. Go figure. Unfortunately, plans for a sequel are in the works. Halt, I say!
