2. This Is The End
Another controversial selection here but I am standing my ground. Im aware that This Is The End is primarily mainstream and considered successful but it could have soared higher. I dont know who decided to open this against Man of Steel but shame on them. Im no box-office specialist but it does not take one to realize that you are probably undercutting yourself opening a film against something as highly anticipated as Man of Steel. Thankfully the decision did not completely squander the project as potential sequel discussions have surfaced. If you have not seen This Is The End yet though I strongly recommend doing so without procrastinating as it is already leaving theaters. The film stars numerous current comedic faces including James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, and even features countless cameo appearances including Michael Cera and Emma Watson. Our protagonists play themselves literally as they try and survive a biblical apocalypse by holing themselves up in James Francos house making for one of the funniest films of the decade.
