1. Return Of The Jedi
Compared to the prequel trilogy, most everybody can agree that the original trilogy stands tall. But whenever you start to dissect the original trilogy and discuss its individual merits, that's when things get complicated.
Return Of The Jedi is an amazing film, filled with tense conflict, goofy action and an absolutely fantastic final showdown between Vader and Luke. But admitting that you absolutely love it - more, even, than the other two in the trilogy - is the precise moment when people get angry.
What, you like the Ewoks? You like all that stuff on Endor? More than Empire Strikes Back? How can you like that stuff better than Hoth? Luke's confrontation with Vader at Cloud City is sooo much better than the cheesy scene with the Emperor and the lightening. Everyone knows Irvin Kershner is the greatest Star Wars director ever. Besides, the whole final act is just a repeat of what happens in A New Hope. And - and - and...
All right, all right! I get it! Most people like the other two films better. Can't you just leave me alone and let me have my own opinion?
