10 Great Films You Can't Admit You Love (And Why)

2. Face/Off

Face Off
Paramount Pictures

Sometimes a film comes along with a premise so ludicrous that you can't help but go along with it; a premise so farcical that it doesn't even engage the part of your brain that wonders "is this possible?" and just skips straight to base enjoyment.

That, in a nutshell, is John Woo's Face/Off, a film which sees John Travolta's FBI agent Sean Archer get a face transplant to look like Nicholas Cage's terrorist Castor Troy and Troy get facial reconstruction to look like Archer.

The film's premise is also the reason why it's so difficult to proudly sing the film's praises. Many people are unable to reconcile how dumb the whole thing is with its sheer entertainment value, and those who haven't seen it understandably assume that it's complete and utter garbage.

But it isn't! Well, I mean, it sort of is, but that's the point, right? Yeah, it's complicated. Rest assured, however, that you don't have to be a moron to appreciate Face/Off.
